Paesaggi romani con tram e bus

Sample Picture Here

The text and photographs of this book allow the reader to travel around a city in motion.
The changing face of Rome is described in its means of public transport, commencing with old photographs of Roman trams in the 1950s and ‘60s from the Riccardi archive to contemporary ones by Olivo Barbieri, Marco Delogu and Paolo Pellegrin.
The period photographs are accompanied by texts by famous authors, ranging from Flaiano to Pasolini, Calvino and Caproni, while three new and hitherto unpublished photo reports recount the contemporary city in pictures alone. Olivo Barbieri has portrayed the city’s symbolic buildings against a background of moving trams, Marco Delogu has photographed the old central transport depot in Via Prenestina, with its scenery and its men, and Paolo Pellegrin has depicted the atmosphere aboard the trams, mainly in the evening.
The book is the result of all these projects, of daytime waits and night-time travels, of depots and of men.
