Cristiano de Majo
Sistema Elefante

What do writers Dejan Kovac, Stephan Meström, Bruno Rohmer e Richard Cartwright have in common? They have different origins and live in different periods, in different cities. However, all three have written a book entitled “Sistema Elefante”. The subject of the book is mysterious – does it have a single theme or one for each writer? – and fortune always seems to turn its back on its authors. Cristiano de Majo has put his sharp lean prose to work to construct an enthralling satire on the world of publishing and the literary ladder, reflecting on the mysterious and perverse allure of success and failure. “Sistema Elefante” is a crescendo of alternating comic and dramatic situations, grotesque moments and erotic episodes. The story is set in four European capitals – Rome, Berlin, Paris and London – permeated by a profound and almost metaphysical sense of mystery, in which the lives of the characters and the destiny of men are wrapped.
Cristiano de Majo was born in Naples in 1975. He participated in the anthologies “Best off 2005” and “Voi siete qui”, both published by minimum fax. In 2008 he has also published “Vita di Isaia Carter, avatar” (Laterza) and the reportage “Italia 2” (minimum fax).
